£Sliding scale fees
Pay an amount that you feel really good about right now
What?
Sometimes we offer our classes on a £Sliding Scale or ‘pay what you want to’ basis. Sometimes this can appear strange or challenging. We don’t want this to be stressful or confusing; rather, we want our exchange to feel great. We might give a suggested guide, but the most important advice we can give is “Pay an amount that you feel really good about paying right now”.
We won’t view the amount offered as a true reflection of how you value our work, whether you pay us lots or less, and we know that the amount will be influenced by a range of factors for you, including how much you can afford at the moment. We hope you might even enjoy giving us ‘what you want to right now’, as much as we enjoy delivering our services to you.
So… how much?
“Every time you spend money you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.” – Anna Lappé
We hope that you will value our work as highly as we do, and understand the cost to us of providing our services to you, our need to keep a roof above our heads, and eat enough potatoes. We also understand your need to eat enough potatoes.
Why?
DecisionLab are passionate about the importance and usefulness of the work that we do and we take pleasure in serving a diverse range of people and organisations. We also want to stay in close contact with our customer’s needs, and what they can afford, and are always especially happy to work with others who share our vision of a healthier, more sustainable world.
Real Wealth and the new economy
We are also passionate about nurturing the new economy, in which we recognise the usefulness of some aspects of money, but emphasise ‘real wealth’, which includes well-being and other useful indicators. We want exchanges which feel really good.
Here’s an experiment for you
Indeed we invite you to try, as a one week experiment, only giving your money to people and organisations that you actively like, and see what comes up for you. When you have reason to, give as much as you can to people and organisations that you actively like, and notice anything that rises up for you. We’d love to hear of your adventures!
We hope you will love, or come around to appreciating this unusual approach
